Why I am sitting here listening to a Jungle book CD?

I love all the songs- we were all singing along to the Bear Necessities.

I am doing quite well with the Christmas shopping. (Arent I good ) Did some today. Cant do too much at a time as I cant carry the packages. I used a backpack today so that was easier. I will do a bit more at the w/e. I have also done some online shopping as well. So that saves the carrying!

I have been talking to two friends this week both whom have been unwell. Both of them, when they were telling me how they were feeling, stopped and said words to the effect of "why am I complaining, nothing compares to what you are going thru".

One of them had had a mouth infection and a bad cold. You can feel rough with a cold. The other friend had an emergency hysterectomy....thats pretty traumatic. When she was first telling me she was saying she was in a state of shock. Then she said but that doesnt compare to your shock of being flown home from Barcelona.

At least today I could give her some encouragement when she was feeling low.....well you are doing more this week than two weeks ago....She thought about it and said yes. The old adage works.. ..look back to see how far you have come not how far you have to go The best piece of advice I was given. Probably from this site

I know it nice for them to be concerned, but I dont want people to stop talking to me because they think I am having a rough time.

The irony of it is there is a collegue of mine at work ignores the fact I have stroked and complains all the time about her ailments. She never asks how I am.

So it is all or nothing
