:friends: Well nothing really spectaculars happened this last week :Clap-Hands: unless you count the fact of finding Trev's Social Worker is a guy after our own hearts :Clap-Hands: he luvs animals, & is VERY positive about the future. We have heard of a Charity www.dogaid.org.uk which could help Trev train our dog to assisit him as an assistance dog. Trev is thrilled by the idea. He also told us about computer courses that can help Trev get back into 'puters again.

When I told Trev all this, it seemed to bring us closer together. He seems to be doing well at the Day Unit, he feels the therapists there really want to help. We have had so many negative comments that it's good to feel someone is actually listening to us at last.

We discussed Trev's trying Woodturning again (it was his fav hobby before the stroke), I have always said he would'nt be able to do it & actually sold his lathe when we had to move house. This had caused arguments between us. Well I have realised that anything is possible if you want it to be, I've surfed the net & found it IS possible so I've aplogised to him & I'm going to help him acheive his dream again.

I've discovered that many of the drugs he is/has been on have side effects that could have caused his confused episodes over the last 6mths, I had suspected this for a while.....this has helped us both accept those bad times during the last few months.

Think we are getting there at last :friends:

Kudos to both you and Trev - I can tell you from experience - I am a 20 yr. survivor - I was told I'd never be able to walk carrying full cup of coffee [sounds simple] Well, not only did I master that feat, but can walk around a 1/4 mile track using their raiings, but all of Trev's tools can be modified for his safety and production, so if Trev has the willing spirit, I say GO FOR IT - Life is short, so enjoy it together

As far as Trev being able to set up his shop again, WHY NOT? You can have his lathes adapted to his ability for his safety & as all meds have "some" side effects, try to have more faith in him, knowing he'll be as safe as possible

GOOD LUCK TO BOTH OF YOU :Clap-Hands:

June
