racial problems

i entitled this blog "racial problems" so i would get a lot of responses. i am a caucasion female and i have lived in the "city of the civil rights movement" since i was ten years old.

i have worked, lived, been to school, and BREATHED in the same town as many of my friends "of color" and have not ONCE, for ANY reason had a dispute based on race. i think that it is all a matter of attitude. many people think that because it's "the south" that there are problems , NOT so . more than HALF of my clients are "non-caucasion" they trust me and i trust them. we have NO problems!!!!!

however, the MEDIA likes to portray us in general as having problems. i JUST don't get it!!! i don't see how i could survive with friends of different races and ethnic backgrounds for THIRTY PLUS YEARS, and NOT know if there was a problem.

we have ROSA L. PARKS AVE, we have the DEXTER AVE BAPTIST CHURCH where mlk made his famous speech. we are a MULTICULTURAL town and i RESENT people who think otherwise!!!!!

just "letten' ya'll know!!!! "

I think it's sad that normal life never makes the news. Luckily we (me and siblings) were not raised to have thoughts outside of all people are people. I have no first reactions of color first, human second. It's nice to know though, that there are many people out there the same way. Sad to know that we all aren't.

Could it be that people really aren't that prejudice about your town and really just associate your town with what happened historically?

I'm of German heritage, and would hate it if people would assume I am a Nazi because of that.

The big problems in life come when we use that horrible word assume because when you do assume, you make an ass/out of u/and me leave out the prepositions and conjunction.
