Mr. Righty
My husband did the funniest thing. He has a great sense of humor that was lost the first year and a half after his stroke. And has increasingly been coming back.
I'm always nagging him about using his right hand because he forgets. Uh, what about the right hand? Will you use the right one please? Mr. Righty is just hanging there. Giving him "a look" when the glass he is holding is about to spill because he forgets he's holding it. Now the therapist is the one who started with the "Mr. Righty" thing so I sometimes use the term just to mess with him. hehehehe. I know I'm bad.
Anyway, this morning he walked to the sliding glass door and opened it to feel the breeze, then shut it and all with the left hand and I didn't say a word. He turned around to pick up the news paper with the right hand. Then he looked at me and noticed I was watching him. So he sets the news paper back down, backed to the sliding glass door, opened it with right hand, shut it, walked backwards to where the newspaper was, picked it up with Mr. Righty and proudly strutted to the kitchen with both newspaper and coffee cup all in the right hand.
Needless to say I was laughing my butt off because he was grinning and giving me "the look" after him thinking he was so funny and what he had done!!!!!!!! Like, SO THERE, take that Missy!!
