A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR IS IT TIME FOR A NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS?
lharrison posted a blog entry in lenny's Blog
well, here it is, its a new year , time for making a new year resolutions, however, lets make this new year resolutions something very , very, special. not your normal want to lose weight , or to quit smoking. lets make a new year resolution as a stroke surviver, for instance , I promise to not beat on myselfand blame me for anything to do if I can"t seem to do it right, and I will try to always be positive about my journey of recovery, and finally I will try as my new year resolutions to not get so stress out if it seems to take so long , I will just do the very best I can to get as munch recovery as I can and not blame me for if I am not wher I want to be, and my new year resolution is that I will always treat other people in my libes friend, or spouse, or caregivers, the way I would like to be treated. your journey of recovery is your very own we all have challenge, we all have shortfall, we all fell sad , we all want more, we all are human, so lets make a pact. that we wont be so hard on ourselves if the stroke recovery don"t go so well, just remember your family is there for you to help you any way that they can so yes you a=re blessed to be able to do what you canso lets make live a little easy for you just to do the best that you can, not to complain to yourself if you feel like your journey of recovery is not going as well as you think that it should. know that recovery takes time it"s like the turtle slow but it wins the race we are all in this together we are all stroke surviverso my new year resolution is simply to do the very best that I can at this point in recovery and to not challenge myself when I am very tired and most important on my journey of recovery to not stress myself over how long, or how tired I may be or maybe weither or not my memory is good or not, I will love life to the fullest. I will always be happy that I can do what I can and I will never compare about how well someone may be doing if I can"t do and the best thing about making your new year resolutions about how I will be as a stroke surviver is youwon"t sress over anything that you can"t help, and you will always have a whole year to succed, on your journey of recovery -
oh wow!!!! do you feel the spirit of CHRISTMAS? I know I do, and its every where you look . we just had a Christmas lunch at the stroke club. lots of food , and fun, and even some gifts. and just everywhere you look . Lots of smiles, and lots of good wishes from all the members, and then lots of Christmas decorations, and of coarse a whole lotta cheer. We have so many things to be thankful for, like a wonderful family, and lots of happy times , during this holiday season and of coarse this blog , is to wish you a very very merry Christmas , filled with lots of happiness, and of coarse lots of good cheer, what better times to celibrate then at Christmas time. Time to enjoy the happy holiday season, with all of your family and your friends, time to give to the one that you love, and in this season it is always better to give than to receive, I am truly blessed to have in this wonderful merry Christmas season a wonderful wife , and caregiver, and my family son and daughter and grandson. But most of all to share this magical happy season with all the people that you love, cherish, and to see everyone so happy , we should try to keep this CHRISTMAS, spirit in our hearts and in our minds to be happy and to be loved. It is a very special feeling, and just think , after the magical and wonderful day on Christmas , to be able to share with all your loved ones so I wish you and all of my friends, a very very merry Christmas, may your days be merry and bright, and may all your loved ones be blessed, and lets just try to keep the Christmas spirit , every day. and just think you get to be that happy and make other people around you happy and you still get recovery who could ask for anything more. Merry Christmas to you and a very very happy new years to you and may this be your year, the best year ever filled with lots of cheer lots of good times , and good cheer, and of coarse to be with all of your family , have a wonderful recovery , merry merry Christmas.

well winters hereso if you walk, be very careful, and exersice safe
lharrison posted a blog entry in lenny's Blog
well unfortunately , we have to face the cold and very icy conditions, of winter. so just be very , very careful PLEASE, as you know you could slip on the ice. so what I am doing to ensure that I will continue to get my twice a day walk , in so I don"t have to worry about slipping and falling on ice , or snow, I am now going for a walk, in the mall. yes because of Christmas it is very busy that's for sure , but I would much rather face the crowds then break a hip, and the positive of being in the mall is you can now shop for your significant other . and of coarse it is very warmer , and when I deal with cold I tend to get tone kinda like spasticity, so to avoid that problem, I stay warm and less spasticity, and since I am there in the mall, I just shop.so please take heed, this is the time where lots of accidents happen in the very cold and winter months so stay safe and keep on walking. I always go walking to the mall with a mall walker friend that way when we meet we can have a cup of coffee together go for a bit to eat and just have a great stroll in the mall works great, and the most important thing is it is very, very safe . so stay safe and stay warm and enjoy your day and a very, very merry Christmas to you!!! -
