My worms learned to swim...that's all

Well, I didn't catch anything. My worm learned to swim with a hook in it's body. My husband caught a nice size (14 inches) Brook Trout and then caught two smaller rainbow trout (about 8 inches each). At the second site we went to I tried my hand at casting with a rooster tail lure. I caught a lot of grass and moss. I poked my finger once with the hook. OW Good thing I'm not on Coumadin. The weather was beautiful and had a relaxing time with Hubby. The bugs weren't out yet, either so

Gotta get a trout stamp and fishing liscense

Hubby and I own a moble home located on a small river in upper NE Iowa. This river is a canoe river and has bass in it. We'll be going there this weekend. Weather promises to be terrific...upper 60's and low 70's Since Hubby loves to trout fish I must go purchase a trout stamp and fishing liscense so I can go with him to the trout streams(the DNR stocks trout in these streams)... He promises to put the worm on my hook... He plans to use an artificial lure. I guess I get to sit in a chair

Much Ado About Nothing

Life for me is very uneventful nowadays so to come up with something every day to blog about is quite difficult. What can I say, I live a very boring life. Deep sigh! I guess no news is good news so I won't complain anymore. OK?

Shall we dance?

I rented and watched the movie "Shall We Dance?" that has Richard Gere in it. I was reminded of how much I dearly would love to learn to dance...have even before my stroke. But now, I fear that desire will go unfulfilled. Wish I knew if anyone else who has had a stroke could dance afterwards.

Stress every day

Every day there seems to be a new stress brought into play.... Last night my son called into work to say he wouldn't be in because his leg/foot still hurt from that car accident he was in last Friday... His boss called back to tell him not to bother coming the next night ....that Jesse was fired. I can see the boss's point of view...he needs reliable workers to get the job done. Another Brain Fart

Yesterday, I went to Walmart and purchased a package of generic SudaFed. When I came home I pulled the small sack out of my purse and laid it on the counter next to my purse. I remember doing this because I was looking for the cell phone to take out of my purse. I laid down and took a nap. Later last night I tried to find that sack and couldn't... Daily maintenance

I get so weary of maintenence..Why can't a task be done and not have to be repeated in a few days....wash hair,shower, brush teeth, car oil change, rotate tires, the list goes on and on...... I'm not sure where I'm headed with this muse, just wanted to vent a bit.

I was stunned today!

My son stunned me today, after Hubby and I got home from church and lunch with his family. Son said he had been thinking about how he's missed the boat...should go to school and/or at least look for a better job than working in a bakery. He also mentioned he's been wasting his life partying. Hubby told him he's not unlike most guys his age...most are barely figuring out life.   Praise God, I think he's gonna grow up afterall!

20 yr old son....what can you do?

yesterday, my son was riding with a friend of his in friend's car when it was raining....evidently friend was driving too fast and didn't realize road had layer of oil on it. They rear-ended the guy infront of them...totaling the friend's car(1993) and barely a dent on bumper of car ahead(pre-fiberglass body car...metal frame and bumper). What are my options now?

Went to periodontist who agreed with dentist that root canal wasn't an option...not enough tooth left to attach a crown to. #2 bridge which entails grinding down teeth on either side of broken tooth to make them crowns and putting a fake tooth as a bridge between the two new crowns Door#3 Dental Implant which consists of placing a dental screw into what remains of the dead tooth and wait a couple months for bone to grow around that screw. and then build a fake 'tooth' on the head of that s

Made it through the night

Man, oh Man, alive, I made it through the night. I wasn't sure if I'd get any sleep the way my mouth was throbbing last night, but Hubby gave me sleeping pill that put me out like a light. This morning my mouth isn't throbbing yet but it's like waiting for the other shoe to drop. You know it's coming, but just not here yet. New Fun and Games

Well, today, I found out that I broke my tooth off....one that had a crown and dentist wanted to do a root canal but stopped because he is sending me to a periodontist to see if there is enought of the tooth to even do the root canal. So now, my mouth is still numb from the deadening to remove the crown and I can already 'feel' my tooth. He reamed out the dead nerve/root and stopped short of fininshing the root canal. Wow, did that ever stink...the dead root/nerve. So tomorow, I 'get' to go

Long Weekend

I forgot to log out before I left for the weekend. Yesterday, Hubby and I traveled across the state (out in the boonies so to speak) so he could shoot pics of wedding for his friends daughter's wedding. Had a fun time. It was a 2nd marriage for both...nice couple...both recovering alcoholics and have their s** t together now. LDL too high

Got a call from doctor's nurse saying my blood work was back and my LDL was too high...170, and they'd like it to be below 70. So they're changing me to Vitorin, off the Zocor. I've read elsewhere that chloresterol isn't the villian that it's made out to be. So, now what?

Less of who I am

I am so depressed and discouraged about my weight. I need to lose 100 pounds. I'm 5'9" and weigh 240 my ideal weight is 140. It's hard to eat right when you can't cook to begin with and don't do the shopping for groceries. It's equally hard to get motivated to exercise with half your body not functioning. Results of Echo on my heart

Got a call from my doctor's nurse to say the results of the echo done on my heart were negative. I'm not sure what that means, I guess my heart is functioning ok. Still waiting for MRI results.

Ramblings

My son will be 21 this Sept. I pray he has enough sense to NOT do the 21 shot binge at the stroke of midnight.   I would try to play piano except my son is sleeping in the day when hubby is gone. Son works 6pm -2am in a bakery.   Wish I could say magic words to comfort Becky (bcsimpson) in Chicago.   Daily, I deal with confusion of what I can do and why I want to do it.   About 8 years ago, I developed an allergy to any makeup. Quiet here today

Hubby is working overtime today and yesterday. So that makes 7 days a week he works and I'm alone and try to find things to interest me and while away the time. TV only goes so far, then I come to check my email and strokenet to see what's been posted. Jean talked about her Don sleeping a lot, well, what else is there to do? Guess this is just another way of complaining about what I can and cannot do. There needs to be a smilie that shows your bottom lip out.

Eureka

Eureka, Success finally, I found a purse I like and bought it today. Funny thing is I've been to this store 2 other times and didn't see this one before so it must be new. OH, I'm so happy and relieved, I was beginning to think I needed to change my idea of what I would accept. This is such a trivial thing in the big scheme of life but it's fun and rewarding to have that conflict resolved.

Another day of excitement,not!

Well, it's another day of nothing special to do.no job or obligation to get at. I truly wonder who would miss me if I weren't here? My cats, because I wouldn't be around to love on them. Tuesday/Wednesday...Dizzy

Wow, I woke up today, Tuesday and layed on my left side for about 10 minutes to fully awake,then sat up and felt major dizzy...it was as if I had been spun around and around like on a ferris wheel and suddenly stopped...head kept spinning. Had I been young, I would have enjoyed it, but it scared me...made me lie back down immediately to get my bearrings. Since then, I've continued to feel dizzy..not as drastic as at first. Not sure why or what I'm expecting as a reply or added posting...jus
