Heating/AC repairman here today

The heating/air conditioning guy came today to check out our ac unit to make sure it's ready for this summer. We have had such a cold spring, today it's 59, he says there's a bearing wearing out. Probably cost up to $300 to replace it. MY life is so boring...the ac man is the highlight of the week for me.

Being punished

Hubby is punishing me for letting him know I was/am upset about him spending $600 for a ring for his guy friend. It's kinda long story but will spell it out if you want later. Hubby has never purchased any jewelry for me in our 21 years of marriage. He hasn't spoken to me in two days now and the cold war continues. I feel like f*#% you if you don't give a f*#% about my feelings and stop being pisssy about your buddy and that stupid ring.

Totaly exhausted

Saturday, May 14, Hubby and I helped a new up & coming photographer shoot her first wedding. It was fun and felt good at the time to be 'back in the saddle' so to speak (I used to shoot weddings almost every weekend prestroke). Well, once home, I totally collapsed and crashed. I was asleep almost before my head hit the pillow, literally. Today, I ache all over...probably from hopping on and off the platform to adjust the bride's wedding dress. My role yesterday was that of posing and

Petunias are planted

For the first time in 3 years, I have petunias planted in my flowerbed. I did it myself 4 years ago when I first had my stroke....that was exhausting... So this year my son did it as a Mother's day gift to me. And, he's quite proud of himself for having done it...he brags to his friends about it. Says he's going to be the next Martha Stewart only male and better He won't go to jail. We'll see......

How I spent Mother's Day....

The day started out ok....nothing either good or bad...so neutral. I had purchased a flat of petunias and son had promised to help plant them, but didn't. Hubby helped me plant a dahlia bulb. I fell asleep on couch watching tv and woke up around 3am this morning..felt crummy..stomach. Got up to go pee and then go to bed but when I got in bathroom, I vomited and then felt like I'd start going from the other end, but BM turned out to be soft and controled. What a relief. Went back to so

Son Denied Unemployment Benefits

My son applied for unemployment benefits as he was fired from his last job. He had been in a car wreck and messed up his knee, he had a doctor's excuse but his boss fired him anyway, for missing work. Jesse took the doctor's excuse to the Unemployment office where they faxed that to the main office. So, we wait to hear the outcome of that.

The 70's

Would I go back to the 70's? It's hard to explain what it was like in that era to my son and his friends, especially without embarassing myself. His Mom wasn't all that mature back then nor did I make the best decisions. I was talking to my son this morning...saying that he'd better brace himself for when/if he has kids. Because his dad and I have tried our best to tell him our mistakes and how to avoid the problems associated with making bad decisions. I warned him that his kids probably

Yoda, come home!!!

My niece and her husband had a dog, Chewy, and two cats.. a male Yoda, and a younger female, Princess. Yes, they are Starwars fans, can't you tell? John got transfered in his job to Omaha, NE and as a part of the move, it was agreed to find new homes for the animals because of all the hair. Chewy found a home right away and they also took Princess there. a farm acreage Yoda, wasn't welcome there, he's kinda grouchy. A beautiful long hair male fluff ball. So Yoda made the move to O

Anal Glands

My two male cats who are brother/litter mates both occasionally suffer from impacted anal glands that need to be squeezed by the vet every so often. The way I know it's time is that one of the boys will start dragging their 'heinne' across the carpet in an effort to itch his anus. Sometimes their heinne isn't clean and a stripe appears on the carpet. EWWWW. So today, I and my son took the boys to see the vet. Both growled and hissed on the car ride to the vet... I can only imagine what th

I'll try this again.

Yesterday I made a blog entry and before I could save it...it disappeared on me. So I'm oing to retype what I wrote yesterday, hopefully. A friend of mine was painting her patio deck using a ladder and fell from it landing on one foot and broke her leg above the ankle, the bone was poking out of her skin....ewwwwww She had to be air lifted to a bigger hospital. The bone was shattered. Today they were talking of using a 'doner' bone to graft in...which means a cadaver. The local hospital'

Unlimited Resources

Would my life actually be better if I had unlimited resources? My home would be different in that I'd have more than one toilet among other things.... like I'd have a 4 seasons room where I could sit inside and watch the squirrels and birds and keep dry and warm. So could my 2 fat cats. I'd also have a jacuzzi. But would I go the route of having plastic surgery....liposuction...tummy tuck, etc.? Depending on the source of all that unlimited resources, I'd have my hubby home all the ti

only one bathroom for 3+ people

Two days ago, I came home from a short errand... Of course I had to pee again. I went straight to the bathroom...the door was closed. Some of my son's friends who have come over in the past have left the bathroom door shut when they leave. Our family's habit is to leave the bathroom door open when leaving there...our two cat's water and food dishes are in the bathroom. So I lightly knocked on the door and no answer. I really had to pee so I didn't wait long....I turned the doorknob.... M

Delayed Gratification

I'm wondering if my depression is due to having delaying gratification and then being slammed into a wall with a stroke. So, now, I feel cheated of the rewards of waiting... As a child, I was unconsciously trained to think: I'll be happy when... We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are. After that, we're frustrated that we have teenager

Hard Worker

My hubby is such a hard worker...he does his regular 40 hr/wk job which actually is more like 60 hr /wk...overtime. Then he goes to his sister's on Saturday(this morning) and spreads dirt and hauls stuff to the dump. Then he goes to neighbor's back yard....the mister(Del) died in March. Hubby proceeds to move the junk Del had laying all around and stack it in the corner of the yard and then re-seed grass seed in the places where grass hasn't been able to grow for years. All of this is at

Aging with grace...what is that?

My Grandmother aged with grace...why can't I get in the groove of accepting getting older? I'd rather kick and pout about the things that frustrate and inconvenience me... 1)like not being able to read up close without the use of glasses. 2)HOT Flashes have begun to attack. and I mean attack. 3)Also, I used to be able to pluck the few whiskers that appeared on my chin and now, I use an electric shaver every morning...yuk...how feminine is that? 4)Gaining weight is far easier than takin

Need a new watch

I get to go shopping for either a new watch or watchband....I get the cheap kind of watch.. So I'm off to Walmart in search of a new watch or watchband.. I know the watchband would be a cheaper solution but only if the clerk would change the watchband for me...my fine dexterity is shot not to mention my close eyesight is none-existant. My arms seem to get shorter all the time..ie I can't see things up close. My eyesight frustrates me most of all my aging shortcomings. I'm constantly havi

Haircut/color day

Today, I got the grey shoved back in...same effect...haircut and color job. The only time I read the *beep* tabloids is when at my hairdresser's. I wasn't aware Brittney Spears was married nor pregnant. I love to watch MAD TV and they do a fabulous spoof of Ms Spears. Comedy Central does reruns of MAD TV otherwise I would miss seeing their genius. WHy do the networks put all the good shows on at the same time? I guess that's why there are reruns, huh?
