Well here in Southern Ontario we are digging our way out of the snowstorm of the year(the first real snowfall we have had)! Here in Oakville, we rec'd about 2 feet of white stuff. I have just stayed in the house - no going out in this stuff (until tomorrow).
Well, last week I had my first ever swimming class with one other swimmer and she doesn't like the water. But she lost her footing sending both her and myself for a tumble - thank goodness we were in the shallow end and her face went
Well, hello everyone. It's been some time since I was here. A lot has happened since I last wrote.
I finally, FINALLY got my seperation agreement done on Jan. 25. Between lawyers not caring (but will bill me for their time) and a man that didn't want to give up his 'control' on things. At last the fight is over and maybe we can become somewhat civil with one another. :Clap-Hands:
My mother-in-law died on Jan. 6. She put up a good fight then just gave up. She found out that she
Once again, another week has gone by and I haven't been here.
Thanks to everyone about Shandy and YES Asha, the kids were happy with the news and "forgave" me for scaring them to death! KIDS!!!!!
Got a call from my lawyer on Friday and she is away until the 17th. So much for everything being done!!! I'll give it until the end of this month and then I WILL BE READY TO TEAR HEADS OFF!!!!! They're all making me SO MAD and don't understand why I am so 'anxious' to be over this alread
Well, finally heard from the vet about Shandy's lump. And its great news!!!!
The lump won't spread to anywhere else on her body. IF she gets it again, it will ONLY SHOW UP IN THE SAME SPOT.
SHE IS CANCER FREE :Clap-Hands: :Clap-Hands: :cheer:
Finally news that everyone wants to hear.
Holy cow!!! It's been over a month since I have been here. And, alot has happened.
Have to be honest about the 1st book in the book club - still haven't finished it yet! One chapter left and I just couldn't take the wintry weather and I felt like I was in a 'community gossip fest'. I will get it done sooner or later and check out the questions and such at that time. I've been reading a laughable book about mid-life for women.
The retriever, Shandy, had a lump come up on her right
And here I am, writing in my blog. What happened to life that this is my entertainment for the night???
Well, it was a busy week. Thursday it was our Golf Tourney. Getting up and teeing off at 7:30 in the morning (God please shoot me!). It was a good thing the Co-chairman and I are not morning people and just said (grumbled) "Good morning, this is too early!" and left it at that. The tourney was a lot of fun! We had 12 golfers and 12 volunteers. Everyone had a great time and received
I can't believe it's a week since I shared any news. Tsk, tsk.
Julia returned home yesterday from visiting her father in Argentina. Her flight stopped in Washington, and then on to Toronto. She was flabbergasted by the fact that U.S. Customs made her take her shoes off!! Doesn't listen to Mom. She couldn't believe ALL the things Customs made people do.
She boarded her flight to Toronto and arrived 15 minutes early. I, of course, arrived 15 minutes late!! I figured getting her lugg
Well, here it is Wednesday again.
Just got off the phone with my lawyer. We went through the agreement now that X and his lawyer came back with revisions. A year later and maybe we can put it to bed. I'm hoping so!!! I just want this thing signed and done with.
Now, I have to worry about Julia coming home from South America. Her flight is going into Dulles, Washington before flight home to Toronto. She wasn't happy to hear from me about the terrorist's plots. Hopefully, her fa
Well, I'm supposed to be gone by now! But my girlfriend sent email this morning advising that they had a situation with her 2 teenage boys. So we will leave at 1:00. No problem, I get to eat here instead of on the road.
Boys!!! Thank goodness mine has grown up and can take care of himself (so I get told). I still get the 2:00am phone calls from him not the police. I now got a daughter that is going through this stage (as long as she isn't anything like me, life will be fine).
Las
The middle of the week already. Time sure does FLY. Thumb is still hurting but at least I can shower. Went to golf this afternoon and said "hi" seeing as I can't use my hand. Not sure if I talked about Golf for the Physically Handicapped before or not. It is an organiztion started by a wonderful lady 17 years ago here in Southern Ontario. She no longer runs it. It's golf for anyone that has a disability. I am now the Secretary of this group.
Of course all wanted to know why I wasn'
Well it's supper time in my house. Had to wait for the chef to get home to cook. It smells good. Went and got groceries this afternoon and the book for the Book Club. That was quite the adventure. Chapters had one copy left in the Travel Section. Think I could find it - NOPE! It took a wonderful lady behind the cash register to get someone to find it for me. Good thing they have more than 1 cashier.
So now I am home, about to eat so I will say good bye until next time.
Thumb is healing!!! :cheer: Still need bandages and polysporin. But I will live.
Last night it was microwavable supper - can't cut myself using that. lol
If I seemed rough with people's responses than I truly apologize. I don't like to 'talk' via the computer as it seems I never come across as being laughable. Comedy is not my thing, though I do like it!
Today I have to go and get groceries before someone starves!! There is no cold cuts so he is going to starve -
Well I didn't get anything done yesterday as planned as I made a STUPID mistake. I decided to make a zucchini and tomato lasagna. I got my mandolin (sharp blade) out and started cutting the zucchini, got to the bottom of the piece and thought I should be using the handle to hold onto the zucchini and made one more slice. Here's to stupidity - brought the zucchini through and then proceeded to slice the top part of my thumb off. Of course, I bled all over the place (except my slices of zucchi
It is Saturday of a long week-end here in Canada and I'm sitting at my computer. No plans to do anything BUT shopping for food (my son says I'm starving him) and laundry tomorrow!!!! Lots of fun - NOT.
Finally heard from my lawyer, received a letter in the mail and she will call next week. Woo Hoo :Tantrum:
I just want this to be over. I could rant and rave but it's not worth it anymore.
That's all I have to say for now.
I'm sitting here thinking, "What do I talk about?" Yesterday....
I took myself out driving yesterday (nerve racking, you bet). I went to visit my aunt who lives 25 minutes away via the highway. It felt pretty good to drive the highway without anybody with me and traffic was light for a Saturday. When I got there I didn't even have the shakes, I felt good. She applauded me when I pulled into her driveway (made me feel even better). Stayed for 3 hours visiting then had to go to my siste
Well I got an email from the ex today stating he emailed his lawyer to get in touch with mine. Woo-hoo
Still no answer from my lawyer. I'm not sure who to be madder at him or the lawyers. To heck with it, I mad at all of them now. Hopefully tomorrow will be my lucky day.
I took myself to the mall and got my hair done and feel pretty good. Of course, tomorrow it won't look as good but that's the brakes.
Should go to bed now.
Well, it's after 9 here and still terribly HOT out. Even the dogs don't want to go out! Thank goodness for air conditioning!!!
Sent my lawyer an email yesterday about my Separation Agreement and she wrote back that she hasn't heard from his lawyer.
So this evening I called Buenos Aires to ask "why". My daughter was surprised when I asked to talk to her father. He claims he talked to her on Friday - FRIDAY - this was supposed to be done and over with at the end of June! :Tantrum:
Well another day, and I'm writing again.
Yesterday I had a lunch for 3 important ladies that have helped me in the past 2 years. They helped me come out of my shell (complete misery/depression), get going about my drivers license, and become Secretary for Golf for the Physically Challenged (I believe I used a different word last night). These ladies was God's answer to all of my rants and raves over the past 3 years.
My son is a chef (almost) and he made a wonderful fish dish for u
There is a first for everything in life now, and this is my first at writing things down. I was told back in the beginning that I should jot down every new thing happening in my life post stroke. Did I listen, hell NO. But now I think its time to do so. I stroked April 12, 2001 - 5 LONG years ago. Right side affected.
As I said before, I have been seperated for the past 3 years, while he saddled up with another (complete) woman. Meaning in his words, she wasn't a cripple. Did he hurt
