Knees still painful

Well it seems the shots have not helped a lot, knees were hurting yesterday The arthritis just kicks up when it wants to! If I get some exercise it helps but too much makes them hurt. Seems like you can't win. But I keep smiling, I'm still walking!

Progress

Well, I get the second round of shots in my knees tomorrow for the Arthritis, they are feeling a little better. Between exercise and the shots I am walking normally now and no pain. Looking forward to Florida Trip on 2/12, 5 days in the sun and warmth. Thanks to all who welcomed me back, I will try not to stray.

Back again

Well I am back again, seems I was right, I am on and off this board due to life interuptions but I do enjoy the folks on this board. I enjoy the chats when I get to them. The only thing to talk about is the weather, bad! Snow, ice, freezing rain, ugh. But soon the sun will be out and I can hum again! Had some oral surgery Tuesday and no fun there. Been getting shots in my knees for the arthritis and they seem to help. :yadayada: All for now!

Nasty Weather

:head_hurts: Yes, the weather has turned nasty, COLD, VERY COLD, 28 degrees yesterday morning when I went to work. Big change from November. And yes, there has been some light snow and ice on my driveway which tells me winter is coming fast and hard. Of all the chores, shoveling snow has always been my least favorite. After the stroke my wife won't even allow me to lift a shovel. Well, I don't argue about that, we pay someone to do it now but I still don't like trying to get out in that snow.

Scratched weekend

Well the weekend at the shore fizzled as Tropical Storm Noel came up the coast and dire weather predictions kept us home. The wife went shopping with our daughter and I went to the food store, got in supplies and made a big pot of Chili! I use ground turkey, nobody suspects it is turkey! :yukyukyuk: I add a few hot peppers, some red and green peppers, onion, and a little minced garlic. Brown this in skillet then add to large pot with 1 large can crushed tomatoes, 1 can diced tomatoes, 1 can pi

next weekend

It's only Wednesday but I am planning the weekend, down to the seashore to get some after summer work done and get ready for winter. I also plan to get my walks on the beach in, even though they may not be the barefoot variety. I know the evenings will bring dancing because my wife will be with me, she even dances to elevator music! :laughbounce: :happydance:

work weekend with some fun

Well the weekend started with some painting, then a clean up in the attic. My daughter is such a big help in these projects because the attic is too low for me to move around much. Anyway Saturday rained and we worked inside. On Sunday the sun came out and we went off to the local Penn State campus for "Space Day" a celebration of 50 years in space. My wife knows I am fascinated by this stuff but she is bored silly by it. She was a good sport to come along and listen to the lectures and helped m

Dreary Friday

Well it may be overcast and damp here in PA but I am still happy! Afterall it is Friday and the weekend is around the corner! What to do this weekend? Well I know there is some work to do, I started painting the front door and it needs a second coat. I hope to find time to go out and enjoy the fall colors though. The good news is I lost 1 pound! :bouncing_off_wall: :happydance:

Fab fifties weekend

Well its Monday and I am just back from a weekend at the Jersey shore which featured 50s music. A good time was had by all! I prefer 60s music myself and a 60s weekend is coming up in April, so I will wait patiently. Anyway the wife and I got out and cut loose, stayed out until 2AM on Saturday night! Wow, been a while since I've been there! Met some new friends, danced, sang and imbibed a little too! Anyway, back to the diet big time this week! :Clap-Hands: :happydance:  :Booty:

Another day, but a Friday

Well its Friday! I leave work early today and head south east to the seashore, hoping for good weather for the weekend. Don't expect summer, just some sun and mild temperatures will be nice. I heard on the news how many folks are wishing to move out of Jersey beacause high taxes and cost of living. I say "People you must not be living in the right part of Jersey. Get close to the OCEAN! It is worth whatever it costs! Hey! I made Associate today instead of Newbie!! Hurray! :Clap-Hands: -JohnI

Damp weather

Well I am learning more and more about this Blogging. The damp and dreery weather got me down a little but I bounced back. The shorter days and dark coming early also has taken a toll. Is anyone else out there affected by bad weather? My wife says I am mental to be exasperated by seasonal change and weather. :head_hurts: -JohnI

Beach Bum's weather

Well, another beautiful fall day in PA! A little cold for the beach but not bad for shelling. I soak up glorious weather and sunshine like a sponge soaks up water! Looking at the bright side of this day and more to come. :laughbounce: :Clap-Hands: :yukyukyuk: :bouncing_off_wall:

Family

I have said before how important it is to have a spouse by your side, but I amend this today. A spouse is the greatest asset, but family is also important, my daughter cannot understand what I went through, but she can make me laugh, and that is good all by itself. My grandson, only 2 doesn't even know how funny he can be but I enjoy his antics so much. To all out there, keep your family and friends close! So important I cannot over emphasize! :yadayada:

Another day

Well today is another beautiful day. I have been enjoying the chat on this site but will miss Sunday, we are taking my daughter out for a birthday celebration. I will be seeing my grandson Luke today, always fun. I have been enjoying reading and writing and learning from other people. I have found that any stroke presents a challenge both emotionally and physically. I am glad most people can deal with it, it helps to have a supportive spouse.

My first chat

Well, I did my first chat last night, Thursday with Kimmie and the gang. What a wonderful experience to be instantly accepted by peers who understand where you have been. I felt so much better after this chat I am still smiling. Anyway I am encouraged by the positive attitudes of the folks on chat and would encourage any survivor to get on a chat regularly!!

First entry in the Beach Bum's Blog!

It is October, the weather is still warm here in PA and I have just returned from the Jersey beach at Wildwood. I am basking in the glow of an extended beach season! Praise to the almighty! All things considered, problems are less this week and I can deal with them all. Bring on the Sun!
