Oops posting and missed the bus

Distracted while writing my last post I missed the bus to get to my dentist appointment. Called my daughter and her 4 year old answered too funny I asked who is this and gave his first, 2 middle names and his last name with attitude sort of with a duh. Had to laugh bit he did get his mother right away, she's giving me a ride not to anything fun but a dentist appointment at least I'll make it there. Jay

Blessed friendship / failed attempt without an attempt

After I got home my wife and her sister were sitting out by the lake my wife asked me to make dinner, they both raved about how good it was. It was only goulosh but I did it all by myself and it was good Jay

Minor victory

I stopped to see a friend in the hospital, after while waiting for the bus I sat on the curb exhausted after a long hot humid day. Sitting on a curb is something I try to avoid, last time I needed a kind gentleman to assist me up. Multitasking failure

Today at the baby shower there was a buffet line I was successful in not dumping NY plate if food,however I bumped into the lady in front of me twice she was sweet and accepted my apologizes. Amazing labor day

Attended a baby shower. The new father to be is like my second son, there were times growing up I considered claiming him on my taxes he was here so much, best friend of my son. I got to see some people I haven't seen in a long time. In fact I was asked when u had my stroke I said 22 months. This friend said I never would have thought you would be he when I heard how bad things were going in the hospital, I've been told u flat kibed a few times. Today's laugh

My daughter with the one year old sent me a txt message, I responded. Then she called me but all I hear is the one year old babbling. After the third call u said m give your mommy the phone he wouldn't do it.   I'm sure he's a genius. Denied disability

I got my letter today meeting with my attorney on Tuesday to discuss filing an appeal. They say it's usually denied the first time. So I guess I'm normal in that respect. Lol Peace, love, joy and prayers, Keep praying for me. Thanks Jay

A wonderful day of volunteering

There are two survivors that I've met witin the last week. Today their therapist brought them into the dayroim, my hang out when I volunteer. I had a few opportunities to chat and told them I'd give them a break today after 3 hours of therapy, some this am, I know how tired they are they were heading to rionsto take a nap. Minor frustrations and bumbling experience

A small town in a neighboring county is having a folk music fest this weekend No one in my family wants to go so I tried the bus system and the northern county system doesn't run on Saturdays. I humbled my self and emailed an aquainences who just moved to the area and asked if he would be interested in going,( AKA drive me there and back) I hate to putpeople out but without driving and nobuses what are the options? I really want to go but I don't think hitchhiking is a good idea.   Peace،

Met a newbie today 1 week into life post stroke

As we chatted she asked my first name again, then she said that was my husband's name, being the smart Alec that I am usaud was he as good looking as me ? She just laughed then asked my last name I had to repeat it and give her a clue. I said it's a good German name, she too is if German decent. I told her about hard work and determination that my family claims us my German stubbornness. We laughed. I cut out chatshirt because today is her first full day inpatient rehab and the OT came to do

Living life vicariously through the eyes of a 4 year old

yesterday was extremely hot day, after walking 2 miles 90 + degrees when I got home I decide to go swimming my 4 year old grandson was over and we were in lake together and it started sprinkling a bit and he let out a squeal of joy it was fun and I recall the joy as a child swimming in the rain u apprecuate lufe much more niw but how sweet to see this young man experience things for the first time. Today's laugh

I took a coffee to go and got on the bus and promptly spilled on my lap. When I got to the hospital I went into the wash room to try to clean it up. There was an older gentleman in there with me. I said,"nothing like spilling coffee and making it look like I wet myself" He said," there are times I don't have to spill coffee to get that look. Wow. 9/2. Wow what a day

Wild chatting with an acquaintance at the coffee house this morning he asked if he could use my the table at was sitting at a nice to the course I had to go to the stroke support group meeting and he looked at me and he said you know what you're such an inspiration to me I've never been through anything close to what you've gone through but I look at you when when I can start to get troubles and I think this is nothing if J can survive with Anne and thrive like he is I can get through this. The phone calendar works great if you look at the right date

Oops, I was asked to help the admin assistant of the CFO with the change over to the new name I looked at my calendar for wed 9/9 all clear too bad they want me tomorrow wed 9/2. Oh well my support groups are too in to me they have aided with my recovery. What can they do fire me? Lol Jay

Many people don't get it done never will

A relative of mine the same one that told me to get beyond the stroke survivor stuff made a comment to me last night that I need to get a job she said I'm sure your volunteer work is moderately rewarding but it's a waste of time personally the rewards I get from my volunteer work are worth more than all the treasures in the world it's not moderately rewarding it's extremely rewarding and the rewards are in measurable. Laugh for today

Inside drinking my coffee, an old friend came in, hired to do some minor repairs on the front sign. The name of my favorite hangout is "the exquisite corpse coffee house and gold rodent art gallery". A tribute to dad

There is an older gentleman that I see while having my coffee and either reading or writing. I saw him twice today, the second time he said are you still at it? I said yes no matter what I do I give 110%, I attribute that to my father, who said I don't care what you do as long as you give 100%, in fact if you dig ditches you make sure they are the best damn ditches anyone has ever seen. Party pooper

I went to a wedding Saturday, it was beautiful and my good friend the father of the bride, sang the wedding song, so proud of him. I don't know how he did it when my daughter got married two years ago I had a hard time not crying walking her to the alter, there is no way I could sing at it. Smile for the morning

Drinking my coffee sitting in my favorite rocking chair outside the coffeehouse I see a young man walking with his daughter ( I guess 6/7 yrs old)they walk past me the little girl running ahead and coming back she said see if you can jumpfurther than me. Anew game for stroke Survivors " the Walmart challenge"

How long can you handle the overstimulation of a Walmart super store? The prize is getting out of the store with all the items you went in for and finally getting away from the lights, noises and masses of people. I lasted about 20 minutes but was ready to bolt after 10. I had to wait for my sister in law. She was paying and driving and I couldn't recall where the car was. That was a challenge I survived and don't care to try that game again any time soon, but alas I'm able to complain and
