haven't been on site in long time. I turned 65 in April and had to go to Boston for eye surgery in May;
I had a precancerous lesion that needed to be removed. my previous eye surgeon did not want to do it because it involved a graft and she hasn't done very many. Thankfully all went well and I healed well. In August I had emergency gall bladder surgery. I went in on a Sun. but wasn't operated on until thurs. because I'm on the blood thinner eliquis and had to get that out of my system first. th

hubby had aorta valve replaced with pig's valve may 8th.the surgeon was able to do the mini chest 4 in. incision instead of the full chest cracking and therefore had an easier time in recovery than if he had to do the full chest breaking. we are very grateful for the prayers and God's blessings .he was able to come home in 4 days ;.home on mother's day. my son has been helping us out and I stayed at my sister's until he was released. I feel exhausted and think is mostly stressed related. tomorro

thurs. night 11:00 should have been in bed;i took a step out my front door and my ankle twisted something fierce. my leg which is paralysed jumped in the air in reaction to this and then didn't want to go back on the ground. i had this happen(leg jumping not coming down)as a physical reaction to the pain;this happened once before from a previous brace. my neurologist said it was a way the leg was trying to protect itself. here it was my ankle. by the time i made it to the bedroom it was severely
i feel like i am consumed with the sadness during son's upcoming divorce. grandaughters are very unhappy with dad not living with them. he misses his family terribly but situation was not a good environment for girls, so he moved out;
because he works out of town and wouldn't be able to get girls to bed on bus or sitter. this may come back to bite(she's already changed locks) him. if he had 9-5 job he wouldn't have left. for now he lives in his brothers house, scott's,on weekends when he's ba
just got back from california where husband and i celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary when my cousin invited us out to his house in san clemente for a week. what a wonderful time. beautiful weather mid 70's my favorite. busy everyday and never saw one cloud. my favorite time was dolphin- whale watch. i didn't see any whales but we were sailing with a pod of over 100 common dolphins and pacific white sided dolphins (didn;t know there was such a thing) what a treat.. cousin is the best tour gu
since last entry, i fell getting out of tub shower, directly onto my knees. it's an old cast iron tub so there is no give to that. it's higher then the fiberglass ones of today. i had a handle i use to get in and out. it was here that the little voice said handle is loose. i ignored it. always regret that. just as i put my whole weight on it to get out.; it gave way and down i went .husband was there almost before i landed. no way could i get up with both knees under myself. almost had to call 9

thanks for your prayers. my husband had his right side carotid artery surgery yesterday, leap day. so we will remember this esp. every 4 yrs. thankfully he is home today. dr. said it was really blocked around 80-85% and they had to roto-rooter 3 inches worth making a 4 in. incision. thank God this was caught in time. having just had my 10 yr. stroke anniversary we didn't need another one to track. our youngest son brought us to the hospital in his 4 wheel drive truck since we had our 2nd snowst
last year we thought we dodged surgery but this year surgery is scheduled for my husband on feb.29th. his carotid artery is 80%blocked. glad they found it before problems but still a scary thing.his father stroked 2 times during surgery but that was many years ago. he will not be able to driv :roadrage: e nor pick anything up over 5 pounds. normally it would be no heavier than a phone book but because he works outside and does heavy lifting, firewood,he's allowed the 5 pounds. i'll have to reall

while poor texas is experiencing a terrible drought; n.y. is flooding away. today is the first sighting of the sun in 2 weeks. we have to enjoy it because more rain in 2 days. we've been very fortunate. my nephew got a call at work to come to school to pick up his kids. it took 2-3 hrs. instead of 45 mins.he had to reroute himself several times due to washout roads. those who couldn't be picked up had to stay overnight at the school including the kindergarteners who were having their first day o
able to use computer because we're home waiting out irene and have internet here:Clap-Hands: i've been trying to catch up with blogs and forums, while deleting 500+emails.
hurricane not so bad in upstate n.y. only lost power for a couple of minutes but raining for over 12 hours and don't see any evidence of it stopping but at least the winds are calm for now. stayed home this weekend because we were afraid we would lose power and sump pump might die. we've been staying at camp as much a
:hiya: took a while to find how to get online for blogging. no real excuses. i've been enjoying my summer dealing with some stuff and just can't believe that it will be aug. in a couple of days. i always get depressed when it's aug. here in the northeast it feels like winter is just around the corner. if autumn was followed by either spring or summer it would be my favorite.
best friend for 50+ yrs. came for a visit and it was almost like being teenagers again. living in the house i grew up
realized it's almost been a month since i last blogged. been feeling in the dumps. weather not great so husband's leg and arthtitis acting up; therefore a lot of arguments at home. patience is not hubby's strong suit. also tallied my credit card bills and don't know how i could have spent so much money and yet don't see where it went; never had balance when working. no longer the situation. spending like i still had job. looking for some cutbacks.not going to stop computer. could and should cu

we have an on going legal battle with neighbor at our camp which was purchased prior to my stroke when things were going smoothly, a lifetime ago. the place was a wreck and only someone like my husband , a jack of all trades, could tackle its many problems.
our neighbor has continually moved survey markers until we paid to have it resurveyed. including putting marker on our patio chair in case we hadn't noticed. when the new survey showed
after 3 days of grandkids i was looking forward to some peace;always an optimist,silly me. just when grandkids were going home, youngest son stops by.
tells me things weren't going well at work. ask why , tells me he won't tell me because it will only upset me and i don't need the stress. doesn't he know by now the number of scenarios my mind can go through in less than a minute? had girls night out and couldn't relax. today he stops and tells me things are a little better. asked him what was g
what a beautiful day today was. it wasn't white, it wasn't raining, the grass no longer brown. had to spend time outdoors.swinging, perfume in the air from apple blossoms,& lilacs opening, sky gorgeous blue without clouds , just enough breeze to keep bugs away and in the 70's, my favorite.helps the depression one of those days you're glad to be alive and it doesn't even cost any money. hope we see many more. blessings lynn
