Lost crown on a back molar

This happened3 weeks ago. Our dentist was on vacation therefore the office could only put the crown back on with temporary glue. The temp job lasted three days. So we had it put on temporarily twice. Finally the dentist comes back and William refuses to go. I had to cancel the appointment. I reschedule for next week. The office wants me to buy temp glue at the pharmacy and replace the crown. But I doubt that William will let me. So I will just wait until Thurs and pray that William will go.

We have to his left leg and he uses a quad cane. I bought him a scooter but he hasn't n been using it. It is a little cold. When it warms up we

I am writing under William. I was under Ruthpill. Sorry i have not been to chat. My bible study is on Tues nights for awhile. But, It will go back to THurs soon and then I shall return. Siri and William . It is hilarious. But, he is learning. I just tell him to ask Siri for help. The I phone is really nice. Of course we are still learning. I have the old fashioned one and Wm has the new smart phone. HE still laments that this phone is not as good as his old flip phone. I patiently r

Turp procedure Greenlight

I cannot sign in under my name Ruthpill. So I am using Williams. We have a urinary tract infection. This has been a night mare. This is worse than the prostate problem. Now. no control. Fortrunately, I finally realized and called the urologist who called in an antibiotic of Cipro ...Friday. So we have an urinary urgency and constipation. What a combination. Wm has been sleeping more and now getting hydrated enough. On another note. His phone died. I got him an iphone. He loves Siri.

I need to walk in church....

Can you believe this? William wants to walk in church. This wasn't possible today. HE had a cargiver with him. Next week I will bring the hemi-walker and see what we can do.   I do believe that the Lokomat helped....If for no other reason than ..William realizes that we need to practice walking in the house. Now, it is commn place to walk from the bed to the recliner and from the bed to the bathroom. Walking is with the hemi walker and my assistance.   I move his left leg and he

5 weeks of Lokomat are done.

William has had 5 weeks of lokomat therapy. He is going 2 miles an hour and the physical therapist hopes to have him carrying 100% of his weight by the end of the therapy. 6 more sessions. We shall see. I asked her about his AFO. She suggested some changes. Since his left foot drags...she suggested that I take his shoe to shoe repair and remove the tread from the left shoe ...from the toe to the ball of the foot. and replace it with leather. This will decrease the friction on the bo

Today is day 14 of the Lokomat

I get William up at 7AM for morning meds. My agenda includes walking from the bed to the kitchen table. That is 25 Feet. I had to measure. They ask that question at therapy. We had a bowl of cold cereal and some yogurt. Next 15 min on the electric bike machine. William wants to go to bed. But, I insist that we need to take a shower. I have warmed up the house and I want to give him a shower. William complains and doesn't want a shower. I insist. INto the shower he goes. I promis

Lokomat clinical study 9 days

Jan. 26, 2010 Day one of the lokomat clinical study. It took most of the hour to get all of the measurements so that William is able to use the robotic treadmill. William is harnessed into the contraption that holds him up. 60% of his weight is being held by the machine. Therefore he is walking on 40% of his own weight. The machine is set to walk for him at 100%. He is able to use his muscles and the machine can measure how much his own muscle are actually kicking in. They can tell if h

I am getting tired of the pool

I woke william up at 5:30AM. I have been having to get to work early. But, today I have a late schedule. William's' blood   pressure was great this morning. WE just had his meds adjusted again. Added norvasc 10mg to the morning regimen.   He takes digoxin, norvasc, zoloft, folbic, baby asa, coreg 25mg, calcium, multi vit, vit d, fish oil in the morning. this is   given with yogurt and orange juice. Well, he went back to bed. I couldn't persuade him to go to the pool so early

Lokomat clinical study

Yes, William got into the Lokomat part of the clinical study. I am glad. Really glad. It hopefully will not take as much   concentration as regular PT. You are strapped into a robotic device on a treadmill. So,,,you will have to walk on the tread   mill for 45-60 minutes. I figure that it will probably take at least 15 minutes to get strapped into the lokomat.   Now, they are just trying to find a time slot for William. Possibly it will start this Thurs. Or else it will be n

clinical study at TIRR

Well, I am trying to get William into a clincal study to improve his walking. This is at TIRR in   Houston,TExas. I have set a preliminary visit for next week. They will evaluate WIlliam to assess if   he is a candidate for their study. This study is divided into two sections. One section will use   standard PT the other will use robotics. I have decided that either section will be good for William.   Yes, I would like to try the robotic one. But, hey, this is free the

Enchilladas every day for lunch

I haven't blogged in awhile. Since my site it not working. So ,,,I will blog under William's name. This is his journey.   It is funny. William has developed an extreme taste for enchiladas. We were finishing up our morning work out at the pool and he says, "Let's go and get some enchiladas.". It is 10:30AM...a little early for that. BUt, then I remember. Today is enchilada day at Luby's. They open at 11AM. We don't have to wait that long. So, William orders a nice salad to go with

I'm afraid of needles...and I am apprehensive of botox

I couldn't sleep last night because I was so worried about my botox shot appointment. My ham string is very tight and the botox is supposed to loosen it. Before I had my botox I had to tell the doctor my concerns. He was going to give me alot of shots. Because of my apprehension we had just a few shots and a low dose. it was not that bad. Now I am supposed to have PT again. My leg was able to lie flat on the bed again. We have had to put a pillow under the knee for awhile because
