Relaxing at the coffee house it was very lovely and she was playing out of a hymnal I stopped her between songs and thank her for sharing her gift with us it was so lovely it was so beautiful and she says well I love to play the piano I said it then I told her it comes through in our music you can feel the love and she just looked at me and said God bless you thank you so much it's so nice to have somebody appreciate music and I said well I have to thank you again for sharing your gift with us

Killing time at the coffee houdr

I'm few hours to kill before rehearsal for the play so I stop by the coffee house if some really wonderful rocking chairs inside and as a little boy running around and they all run back to Papa well you stopped next to me and mom was really embarrassed and I said don't worry about it I have grandchildren myself I said this is so lovely it's really nice to see a young man having that much fun. Time with family is such a blessing

We started out at my mother-in-law's where seven of the brothers and sisters-in-law made it. It's always a joy to spend time with them and and the others are more than willing to point it out. Next we went to my daughter's house this she shares with her new boyfriend and a lot of his family his kids grandkids xcetera were there along with my grandchildren and two of my daughters running around finding eggs. Beautiful Act of humanity

While taking the bus from Northern end of the transit system to the main Transit Center downtown we made the usual stop to pick up the jamming out there everyday he gets on the bus sits by himself doesn't engage anyone in any conversation well this morning of one of my best buddies sitting across the aisle from him she leaned over and said well good morning how are you today smile on his face and the light in his eyes revealed his happiness and joy for any social contract. Blessings abound

And my work at the hospital today I encountered the volunteer coordinator she has to if I was heading out and I said yes I was she said you don't have an umbrella I should know she told me to stop by your office because she had an extra one then she said it's it's a little girly and I said Rosemary you've known me for 30 years when do you think I started caring what people thought about me and we just both laughed Later I had to meet my daughter on the other end of town we chatted briefly then

Beautiful example of caring for someone else

One of my buddies that I've met on the bus saw me carrying those plastic bags of food out of the grocery store he suggested that I get some of those reusable ones cuz they are not hard on your hands and they said yeah the only problem is I don't have any money right now he said you know what I've got a lot of them at home next time I see you I'll give you one well I saw him today and he said to me as promised I told you I give you 1 year ago back I think I got more at home I think I'll give you

An amazing blessing in the cleaning supply aisle at the grocery store

Wandering through the store today doing my best to not have a cart crash I saw one of my old theater Buddies we've been on stage together many times we've worked together back stage many times she saw me and I could see your eyes tearing up and she said oh my God I can't believe it's you I can't believe you're walking around I'm sure you don't remember but I saw you when you were in ICU and we didn't think you were going to make it and to see you out and about is just such an incredible blessing

Right place right time to give and get a blessing

Some older gentleman struggling to sign is great change for the bus so I offered it. I asked if you needed any money because no no no I've got it and then I said don't forget the quarter on the ground is all I thought that was a nickel and he says well if you got a nickel I'll take that as adaptable but I don't want to see anybody pay more than they have to.   We discussed how blessed we are to have the bus system that we do have because he quit driving in 97 and I told him I quit driving j

Kitchen victory

I have never made a corned beef dinner I really don't care for it but I know my wife loves it so I brought everything I needed and yesterday morning I found the Betty Crocker cookbook found the recipe to cook it and she said it was absolutely incredible what the hell did you go I was actually able to read and follow the narrative and it turned out okay I just turned out better than okay so that was a major major victory for me yes I'm celebrating it. Not only is it officially spring it's unofficially spring

Not only do I have the opportunity to see the first Sunrise spring I've seen my first Robin. We we all look to the calendar for the changes of the seasons but in my part of Michigan in the fall when the robins leave and the Canadian geese that sells you know winter weather isn't far away in the spring when the guys come back heading north and the robins are looking for food around the yard you know the warm weather is right around the corner what a blessed day. Another new personal tradition

So many times when I get to the hospital I find out that one of my patients has been discharged today for some reason I decided to check in before lunch I check the schedule and one of my buddies was taken off the schedule explain to them I roll and I was talking with mr. Goodbye winter hello spring

Today marks the last day of winter and at 12:30 a.m. tomorrow we welcome spring. A day of mulmultiple emotions

Feeling old stealing Young then embarrassed beyond belief. there are times the only thing you can do is laugh

Waiting for the bus outside the grocery store a car came by with a vanity license plate I don't remember what it said but I remember thinking I've never had one what would I wear what I have on my vanity license plate and I finally realized you silly man you've given up your license you don't have a car and you won't have a car what do you need a vanity license plate for and then I started laughing at myself. Welcome to Parenthood

One of my daughters who will be turning 28 tomorrow has an 8 year old and A2 year old we the train to meet up for a couple days we have been trying to meet up for a couple days. I called her this morning and she said oh my life is so crazy my children are running my life. Bus driver a decent person after all

How angry I was and I can admit I committed myself to kill him with kindness and praying for him because I don't know him personally I have no idea what's going on in his life well I have to say iritis bus every morning now along with a few other people that we all laugh and joke and have a good time including the bus driver so he really is a decent guy I'm glad I gave him a second chance just like God gave me a second chance. Happy anniversary to me

Yesterday marked 29 months since my aneurysm and stroke does anybody else celebrate the month lease at what point do we stop I look at it like a newborn child I have a grandson that is 21 months old and the other one that is 6 months old I guess once we get to 36 maybe we could I don't know it's just I like to celebrate every month because I realized what a blessing my life is and it's my another way of me acknowledging God for giving me a new lease on life and I really love to share with all my

Minor memory victory

I don't have a computer at home I have an iPad and my Android phone well I always have my flash drive with me to save anything that I write and I was there 4 times this week and I remember to take the flash drive with me all four times I usually forget it at least once a week so I was really happy that I remembered all four times. This to normal definitely takes some getting used to figuring out what you need to do to not make those silly mistakes be blessed and be a blessing. Jay

Once again amazed by nature

Waiting for the boss this morning I heard a nearby chirping of a bird I looked around and I saw the most beautiful cardinal the brightest red shiniest feathers I've ever seen. I joke with a friend of mine on the bus that that bird must be eating right and no worms for him. I love stupidity

Wow after getting off the bus to go to my coffee my coffee house I walk to the corner I wait for the light to turn right so I could.cross safely tndI waited maybe three or four seconds after the light turns red stepped off the curb thank God I didn't take two steps because that vehicle that was a half a block away went flying by me and probably 45 miles an hour or as I believe with Scott once said you can't fix stupid I just don't know if I'm ready to the coffee house door side on the Block but

A glorious morning

Today is primary day for the presidential hopefuls in Michigan and I'm proud to say that I cast the first vote I can honestly say 2 minutes after the polls open mic candidate was in the lead Now waiting for the bus I get to hear the lovely birds chirping I think they are as confused as we are here in Michigan that it feels like spring is here its already almost 50 degrees supposed to go up into the 60's today which is highly unusual for Michigan in March. I finished a book

for finishing it took me much longer than it would have pre stroke but that's a given it took me almost 3 weeks to read a book with 187 pages. The book was given to me as a Christmas present from my son and it is entitled my Stroke of Insight I do know that there was a review done quite some time ago and I do know someone posted something about this book recently on a blog I found the book to be absolutely inspiring Continue to be blessed to be here.
