"Happy 2nd stroke Anniversary to me..."

Tomorrow(Friday), is my 2nd stroke Anniversary. I can say, that you reallly do keep on improving after a yr. out of stroking!! I can look back and see my gains from post stroke year 1- post stroke year 2.   I don't like calling my it my stroke Anniversary, so I coined the day "Mother- Daughter Day."   I t is a day of celebrating life and spending day away from telephone/computer and having fun with Daughter. kitchen experiment

I am baking am experimental brownie recipe now. I "Made up" a recipe to make them a little 'healthier' if all possible. I know, I have an actual recipe for lower/calorie type, but didn't have 2 of the ingredients. I was bored, and had a clean kitchen, and lots of flour/cocoa, and like the thrill of it all, to see what they will be like. **Hum, maybe this is a sign, I need to get out! -Amy

100th blog about nothing!

Well, October 21st will be my 2nd year stroke anniversary. I am very pleased about the progress I have made. I am not so paranoiid about another stroke, after living almost 2 years stroke free, from stroke #2.   This anniversary, I think will not be as hard as Anniversary #1. *Sure hope not. I seem to be focused now on daughter's school, and my little volunteering than, my stroke. *Some days I go w/out thinking about it. -Amy

Dallas t.v. series-off subject ramble

My hubby brings home from a guy friend at work, seasons of DVd T.v. shows for me/him to watch. This week it is Dallas and Lost.   I love Dallas! Of course I was too young to watch it when it was popular. Plus it was outlawed at our house, for indecent content.   WTF?? Drinking and adultery. (Both of which my dad did in secret) Hum... 50* it's cold....

Yeah, I 'm desperate for a blog topic, this morning it is 50* here. Yesterday, it was in the 90's, and burrrr rabbit, it feels cold today. I sent DD in jeans and long sleeves to school. It is only going to get 60 here today.   For those reading up north, you guys are use to cool weather. School Picture Day

My baby girl had her school picture day today! I ordered the biggest package you can order, kinda scary with out seeing the pictures first, but I thought they would make nice Christmas presents in a frame to family members.   I hope they didn't have an outside recess before their picture was taken. My volunteering.. topic jumping..

I started my new volunteering job. I am tutoring a few kids 2 days a week, out in the hall, at our neighborhood school. I really enjoy it, and it makes me think, maybe my passion for teaching may still be there buried deep inside a damaged brain. I like the familiarity of the school system.   I sent off last month, for my hospital records, and got them in the mail last Friday. It was a big deal, reading the typed information about myself in the notes, and seeing, what the docs wrote about

babysitting nephew

Today, was a fun day. I got to babysit my favorite nephew who is 2 1/2, while his Mommy went to a doc. appt.   I unfortunately had to go to my doc for a quick PT/INR lab visit. He thought he was the one going to the doc., and my one strong arm could barely keep him in my lap while the nurse took my BP. Walking to school

Trail riding..

Kindergarten has been great for Hubby and I. We actually have free time together without precious offspring. The other day, we went Trail Riding in his 4X4 truck through the woods. It was so much fun, just the 2 of us. WE went and walked down by the AR river. I was a little wobbly on the rocks, but made it. WE went out and had lunch together. It was a perfect day. Fair Parade

Today DD's school got out of school an hour early b/c of the fair parade at 5:00. So now, we have to go, b/c she knows about it.   I bet it'll be fun, but hot.   Friday night, I'll take her to the fair.   Hubby hates to go to fair, I like it okay, so we make a good match when it comes to parenting. -Amy

Familiar face

Tonight in Wal*Mart I ran into a familiar face. I knew, I knew this face from a dark, sad, Hellhole I was in, but I couldn't remember where I knew her from.   Our eyes met and I thought she knew me to, but she kept walking.   She then turned around, and said "Is your name Amy?"   Her face clicked!!! Halloween Costume

Yesterday, Daughter and I went to the local discount store to pick out her Halloween costume. The past years she has been a cute Carebear, or other innocent thing. This year she wanted a harem costume. I knew it showed her belly, but I thought it was cute. If it is cold on Halloween another shirt is what we'll have to wear. Hubby freaked out when he came home and saw the 'sluty' outfit. I guess that is a Daddy's view, b/c to me the costume looks like a genie. Not much to say.. -A

Survivor problem-toes

Hey, I was wondering if any of you survivors have this problem.. On my effected side, I am walking on my toes, b/c they curl under and will not lay flat like my other foot. I didn't know I was doing this for the longest time, due to loss of feeling on that side. Now, my little toes are in extreme pain, from me walking on them for so long. I think I will need to go see my orthopedic guy for some sort of new insole for my foot, yeah, new foot equipment. If it will help my toes I don't care w

Gas Prices!

I am sick of being so car dependent and lazy. Oil has made America such an obese Nation. I am all for walking pushing shopping carts and rebuilding towns to be walker friendly instead of spread all over, b/c Hey, we can drive there!   I am protesting to myself, and tomorrow. 1st day of school down..no big deal

My baby's first day of school is over and I did not cry, I felt it coming on, but didn't. It was more sad to pick her up from school then to let her go, she looked so little with her backpack on, sitting on the curb, for her ride to get her. I took the advice from my psychiatrist and took a Xanex that morning. I didn't do all the things I had planned to do that day. I got lost in my shock of reading my 'childhood town newspaper. That is all interesting today. -Amy

Oh gross... my virginity theif returns..

I feel so violated. The guy who I lost my virginity to, ended up marrying a one of my parents friend's daughter!! WE used to go to their frigg'n house for the Holidays they are so close to my family. Another diagnosis..ugh

Okay, I went to the doctor today with a Bladder infection, I thought.. I ended up being diagnosed possibly with an overactive bladder. Great OAB to go along with my OCD   Why can't I have an overactive Metabolism??   I 'm falling apart It could of been worse. -Amy

My daughter almost burned the house down!

Okay,   well, she may not have burned it down completely, but she could have gotten seriously hurt, and I am sure everyone would of thought it was damaged brain Mommy's fault.   I got tested and tested in rehab, about parental safety, I guess to make sure I could notice certain situations were wrong/dangerous. I have a real coffee table now

I don't know why I am excited about my stupid coffee table, but I am.   It is from our church's rummage sale, nothing new or fancy, but new to me. Our old make-shift 'coffee table' wasn't a real one. A piece of furniture you use, just b/c you will replace it in the near future, well the near future had been 6 years. I guess we just got used to seeing the eye sore in the living room.   The coffee table doesn't match the wood in our house, but it looks better than that 'thing' we did

Sleeping in urine

It has been a long time, since my baby girl had an accident in bed, and last night was one of those nights. We sleep in the same bed, and sleep back-to back. So when she pees in the bed, I reap it too.   Oh well, today is wash linens day anyway, good timing. **She must have not used the bathroom when I asked her to last night.   Anyone else had/have a bedwetter?
