Fantastc 4

I drug my crippled *beep* to see this movie in fellowship with my family. I am not one to like Super Hero stuff, but in the spirit of family outing I suffered through it. I wouldn't recommend it, Asha -Amy

the other woman..

Yeah, the whole dynamics of our family changed when I brought, the other woman into our house. She only weighed 7pds 6oz. when she arrived(our daughter).   I do admit, I get jealous from time to time, from hubby loving her so much, and him dividing his time between us.   But, if he didn't act like that I would feel the other way. This morning he got home from work, and came into the room where dd and I sleep, picked her up, and carried her to bed with him! They have a very good fa

In our house, we have community everything!

I don't know, how it started, but in our house, we have community cups, community everything. If Daddy or Mommy have a drink, and Madeline sees it and wants a drink, we don't think twice and let her drink it. Just a second ago, she saw me drinking my diet coke, and started to grab it, I stopped her and said, "No baby, you need to get your own, since you are sick."   Last night, after our bath, she usually starts in on the loving Mommy phase of the night.   Around here, we all kiss on

Yep, she has "The Strep Throat"

WE just got in, from her Dr. visit. I feel glad, that I choose to take her, b/c she is sick. She has,"The Strep Throat."   Lord, we have been all over town today. Our Pharmacy is closed on the weekend, so we had to go to WM to get it filled, picked up poscicles, icecream, jello. She is pretty excited that the Dr. said "No church tomorrow."   She is hanging out on the couch watching SpongeBob, and eating icecream. Living up being sick, she hasn't been, sick-sick, for 2 yrs.   She re

Dr. Appt made..

Well, Mad ran her fever all through the night.. she woke up screaming from a dream, fever high, I got my cell, and let her call her Daddy and talk to him, while I got the throat spray, and fever reducer meds.   Of course talking to Daddy helped, and she went back to bed with Daddy when he got home this morning. This morning she was screaming b/c her throat hurt so bad. I made her an appt. for an after hours clinic about 30 miles away. She is milking her sickness a little bit, b/c she

not a blog, just a reminder..

This will be easier for me to read, than my non-dominant hand on a piece of paper: Madeline has a fever, nothing big 8:00 a.m. fever 99.5 1:30 p.m. fever 101.5   No medicine yet, I am going to wait until it gets up closer to 102   She started swimming lessons last Monday, her teacher got sick, and one swimming kid quit coming after the first day, all this week, she has had a substitute, b/c her swim teacher was running a fever, Thanks for sharing with our family:)   This mo

No, I 'm not ready yet!

No, I 'm not ready yet.... I went to Wal-Mart today, and saw, that they have the school supply list out, and all the backpacks, etc. I didn't realize that they got the back-to-school things out so early. I am not ready for my baby to start Kindergarten, I know I can do it, reality is just hitting home. I still have until the end of August home with her, then I will need to find a support group for mom's of Kindergarteners:) I am looking forward to volunteering, and being active in her class

PT workout for today

Hubby usually does the grocery shopping, but he was running late, today, so I picked up the slack, and said I'd take care of it. This was the list with the heavy Ass items on it, dog food, water bottles, etc. I pulled it off, and was able to steer the buggy, w/out knocking anyone over. I also managed to work the self-checkouts, with out having to lift the dog food up to scan it over, I just keyed in the item code. I am glad I have a 4 r old, dd to help me unload groceries. She pulls her weig

Jessica Simpson v/s Johnny Knoxville?

The Dukes of Hazzard movie is fastly approaching. Hubby has Jessica's video,"These boots were made for walking." already on his desktop. Yes, he loves Jessica Simpson. I am excited, b/c my man Johnny Knoxville from Jackass is one of the Duke Brothers. He is so cute, and has that Southern accent. Not much, to say, I was just hoping this would make me go back to page 1. It is dark, and moldy on page 2. Smells like a storage shed. I was so glad to see my girl, Post back in the blog worl

Pity party is over..

I am sure, that I am in some form of denial here from the Stroke. I sometimes, feel, I do more comforting to other people, helping them come to terms with my stroke. I pretend it is okay, and that I am fine, when actuality, I am not. Yes, I have been to therapy over it, and learned the stages of grief.... I went to volunteer at the church today, the attendance was down due to the 4th. I had some feeling of rage, with God, when I opened the door. Maybe I should seek counseling from our chu

Lump in my throat, tears streaming down..

Today, was a good day, but sad. Let me explain. I went with my best friend from high school, and roomie from college, on a little road trip to visit another friend. WE had a good time, but I received a letter from myself today!! Let me explain in more detail... I didn't go to my 10 yr. high school reunion, b/c I wasn't going to take my crippled A to see people I didn't care to see in high school! Well our class had a time capsule. And my high school friends, picked up the item I put in the t

Co sleeping!!Yea or Nea?

Okay, my Grandmother-in-law is so against me and my 4yr old daughter sleeping together! I do not see a big deal!! I have read psych journals on co-sleeping and think it is BS. Did any of you guys co-sleep with your kids? Did they turn out normal? I want to tell her to F off, but I am to passive. I am the Mommy, and I make the rules at our house ! Of course I am too passive to say anything. I am not a product of cosleeping, but always begged to sleep with Mommy. I have seen Dr. Phil's sho

Personal Pony tail stylist

I have come along way, from not being able to go to the bathroom, get dressed, walk, put on shoes, drive ,etc.,by myself Now, that summer has come, I have my own personal ponytail hairdresser in the house. I hate to ask my hubby to put my hair, in a ponytail, but he does a better job, than I would have prestroke. I don't even have to ask him, anymore, I just have a brush and holder ready, for when he wakes up, and 3 seconds it is up. I need to learn how to do it one handed, but I do

More survivor world-crazy Amy

I guess, I have a surge of Seretonin in my brain today, b/c I am acting like a nut, on purpose. I was pouring my Daughter some OJ, and she was holding her glass, and saying ?"Mommy, do not spill it, be careful" It gets irratating, when she thinks, I am incompetant. I slowly deliberatly, poured the Orange juice on her hand, that was holding the glass for me. I busted out laughing at her, and she looked at me with her brown eyes, and said"You did that on PURPOSE!" I sure did.   Maybe

I made my husband look like a pervert/peeping Tom!

Yes, this blog, once again, doesn't blog about stroke, it is just a cute situation, that happened the other day in "survivor world." I am usually always, on the PC when my daughter goes out to play with her friends, I do not like to open the blinds all the way, I just slide one blind-eye level open, so I can watch my daughter play outside.   This is so funny!   My hubby, gets home from work, pretty early, and sat down at the PC and the blind was still open eye level for me, from th

Poll:Soda or Coke??

This is non-stroke related, I was wondering what most people call carbonated beverages??   Here in Arkansas, we call everything Coke, wether, it is Pepsi, Rootbeer, Mt. Dew, whatever!   My daughter, had someone ask her if she wanted a Soda, the other day, and she had no idea, what a Soda was. I was wondering, if it was a Southern thing, or family?? Let me know what you guys call it?? Amy from Arkansas Thanks:)

Water breaks and sunscreen check!

As you guys know, My back yard is one of the few without a fence, and It accumulates children in the summer. My daughter,is an only child, and she loves to have friends outside to play.   I feel responsible for the little chicks, when they are in my yard-maybe that is the teacher in me?   WEll, today, it was so Hot outside, I made them all take a break, to get hydrated with water and slab some sunscreen on. WE have 0 trees for shade in our back yard, and I am a hypocondriac, I don't w

I hate being disabled!!

Ugh, Last night, I had a struggle, with the vacuum cleaner. I t was time to change the belt, and bag. It is almost impossible to do one-handed. Taking the brush bar off is easy, but putting it back, with a tight, new belt on, is hard. I could of asked for help, before my hubby went to work, but I have my pride, and would rather throw a cursing fit, doing it myself. After wrestling and increasing the tone in my left hand, I got the little whipper snapper on, turned on the vacuum, and real

Movie:Shark boy and Lava girl

I know this blog has nothing to do with stroke, but it seems that every movie I see, I can, relate it to my stroke. My hubby thinks I am crazy. It was said in the movie, if you dream and it doesn't work out, dream a better dream. I realized, that I haven't done that since ny teaching career was pulled out from under me. I felt tremendously happy all 3 of us sitting together with our 3-D glasses on, knowing my daughter has been looking so forward to seeing it. My hubby didn't care to much f

Ring Worm!

Tonight, after my daughter's bath, I was watching her dry herself off, and noticed a red place on her leg. I looked at it close thinking it was only a mosquito bite, but noticed it was bumpy, symmetrical circle, with a definite shiny circle, in the middle. I was a public school teacher for 5 yrs. I also have a degree in I.D-ing fungus on children's skin. I put some anti-fungal cream on it, covered it with a bandaid. Hopefully I have the correct diagnosis. Where did she get it? I h

You can hear that school is out!

I know I did write previously that I liked the sound of my daughters friends knocking on the back door, now they just open it up like it is there home! I will find a stop to that. And how they like to use our waterhose when ever. I was just outside pooper scooping our backyard, when I heard "Amy watch this, watch that." I wanted to say"You are not my kid, I don't care about the tricks you are doing on the swingset!" But instead, my autopiolet teacher remarks kick in, "Wow, Good, Be careful"

My personality changes post stroke

My hubby, prefers my post stroke personality changes. He says that I am not so high strung, easy to get along with. We rarely fight/argue anymore (we didn't much before) Maybe that is because I am happy being home with kiddo and being domestic/lazy. I am not spending time dealing with someone else's little brat at school. I did actually use to enjoy my job, teaching, now I think I would hate it!! Now I can see the side of the fence when people would say"Oh, I could never do what you do!" My p
