As you all know from my frantic post, My grandson has been fighting pneumonia and has been admitted to Children's Hospital in Seattle.
He is on IV antibiotics, and being monitored. This am he broke out in a nasty, itchy rash. Dr's don't feel it was a reaction to the antibiotics but a "viral rash"
They gave him Benadryl in his IV and after a few hours the rash is gone.

I woke up Saturday about 3 am, I felt HORRIBLE, laid in bed, had the worst headache...then nausea, headed to the bathroom... got a cold wash cloth and crawled back into bed... almost woke John to take me to ER, then I got back up and took a nausea pill and a half a vicodan, crawled back to bed...finally fell back asleep to be awoken by my stomach doing flipflops with grumbles, back to the bathroom.....

well I got my baking done yesterday and the kitchen cleaned up. Today all I have to do is make a green bean casserole to take (along with the pecan pie and pumpkin roulade) to my sister in laws.
Yesterday was nice, home with the dogs and baking. I even took time to come into afternoon chat.
A few weeks ago I made home made chicken pot pies, I made six, so I froze four. Took two out for dinner last night, all I had to do was make some biscuits to put on the top and pop them in the oven
Well tomorrow I will be baking and preparing dishes to take to my sister-in-laws for Thanksgiving dinner. I am going to cook Thanksgiving dinner Sunday and have invited my daughter, fiance & grandson. (They are going to finace's mother's for Thanksgiving).
John had a gift certificate for Sears, we bought a vacum sealer. It has been great.
Have bought soe larger packages of meat and then make smaller packages. Will be nice to vacuum seal left overs from Thanksgiving.

Hello, I have not been blogging lately..
I am doing MUCH better on the new medication.
The last couple weeks have been very tiring for me. My husband owns a small business. It is a small self service copy shop, he also sells and services fax and copy machines and does business cards, letter heads, some printing jobs.
He has 2 employees, one a technician to service the machines and one to help people making copies and design and make the business cards.(counter person) Well our count
Well I guess I really didn't realize what was going on the last 6 months off n on. Was trying to act upbeat and okay. Felt like I was seeing the world through a fog and going backwards. I didn't understand why or waht was going on.
I thought I was doing a good job "hiding" my feelings, and try to cope.

Well it has been quite the month or so...
I had my doctors appointment and though I was a bit disappointed, things could be a lot worse..
He has added new medication three for osteoporosis, one for cholesterol and triglycerides and changed my anti-depressant.
I am doing much better on the new anti depressant, husband could see a change right away. I am feeling more like my self. It has given me some energy and really helping with sleep.

Well I had my follow up appointment for labs, etc.
Think this last month has been toooo busy. I find I need quiet time without a lot of external input.. My comfort zone. Too many things going on, trying to do to many things and boom, melt down. I am not usually like this.

I have osteporosis (just beginning) so he has added Caltrate plus 2 a day and Fosamax with vitamin D once a week. Also Vytorin for trig
Well yesterday was not a great day... I had a melt down...
I did manage to "maintain" for the most part.
I think I just got over tired. Have been working on the cook book, recovering from a cold and then doctor's appointments.
Most of my labs came back normal, but my cholesterol and triglycerides are up.
So now they are going to try me on Vytorin. I hope this one helps without the side effects I had from the others I have tried (3 of them).

well I thought I had it finished the other day and had left some of the cut and past up to John, he brought home what he had done and it didn't look that good and a bunch of the recipes were missing...
So I spent all of Tuesday "fixing it" It is done and not quite as good as I would like, but it is DONE and has been shipped to Arizona.
We showed it to some people & thought it was Great so I guess I am being more critical of myself than I need to...

I have been typing recipes into my computer for my husband family.
The Family Reunion is coming up. My mother-in-law wanted to do a Family Recipe Book for the Reunion (one of the fund raisers). My husband volunteered me to type the recipes.... I was getting a bit discouraged. I didn't get that many recipes from family members. Well I added quite a few of my own and my one brother and sister in law sent six. Well I got my Insurance and went for my "check up" yesterday.. I get one free check up so he definately made it thorough..
I am now scheduled to meet the Dr. for a colonscopy 11/14. I am scheduled for a bone density test and a mammogram. He did a Pap test and blood work.
My blood pressure was 122/78. So I am doing well on the BP medication & an aspirin daily. I asked him about chances of another stroke and he said with BP and an aspirin daily will cut chances of another by 50%..

I came home from my trip to Ohio and came down with one heck of a head cold..haven't had one this bad in years. Started feeling better yesterday so I am hoping it is on it's way out.
I QUIT smoking...may need some encouragement here guys!!!
I have had less than 1/2 a cigarette since Sunday at 10 am. it is 9 am Tuesday.
For the most part I am doing fairly well..Had "cravings" really bad about 3 or 4 times.. try to get busy or do something then and am learning they will pass.

Well it's Tuesday morning, I am a bit slow moving this morning, I have to go into town to the dentist this am. I got a new bridge and it is pinching in one spot.. I got it just before my trip so I was putting oragel and topical numbing medicine on when away...
I think I am still a bit jet lagged ....
Sunday night I got out of bed to go to the bathroom and my suitcase was on the floor ...my left foot ran into the bottom of it ..on the side of my foot. OUCH..

I'm home, it was a long week and I am still a bit jet-lagged.

I think I saw Marty in his yellow shirt but it was a bit cloudy coming into Chicago and had a little turbulence...coming home I was on the aisle seat and wasn't sure if he knew what time I was flying out..lol.
My flights were very good. The airport and help getting me to my next gate was EXCELLENT... everyone friendly and extremely helpful.

I have just lost my best friend.. I mentioned a few weeks ago my best friend..through thick n thin was diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer.
She was undergoing radiation treatment and was going to start chemo in a week or so................I got a phone call this am. She passed away last night at 9:30pm
I will be leaving Saturday to fly back for her services and returning the following Saturday. I have not been back to Cleveland for about 16 years.

Well it's Monday morning, The weather has cooled down, quite a bit and it's back to sweat shirts in the morning and evening. some of the trees are starting to turn.

Today is my daughter's fiance (we call him son in law) Birthday. so yesterday we had a nice barbecue for him.
Tomorrow I have a dentist appointment.. I am finally getting a much needed bridge..The worst of the dentist appointments are over.

I have been on pins and needles hoping nothing "major" would happen to me.
My Doctor has been great taking payments and keeping office visit cost down for me, I just got his bill paid off a few months ago...took out a loan to get my teeth fixed. My husband was diagnosed with melanoma. He is a Vet so we go to Seattle for his medical care now (100 miles away) but he gets great care and now has his primary care there also. So we go

John helped and did the slicing and it was a team effort.. he handled the hot brine so I didn't scald myself.
John cooked dinner..chicken on the barbecue, corn on the cob (yeah the sweet corn is here) there is a farm we go to and it is the best!! baked potatoes and salad.
we both pitched in and cleaned up the kitchen and I am tired.

He had the carotid artery surgery last week. Was supposed to be a "short" surgery and actually ended up in surgery close to 6 hours. During the surgery they found the artery was not only clogged but alson had a malformation so they corrected it. They kept him in the hospital for a day or 2 then he came home.

well I have never liked August very well, my 6 yr old son passed away from neuroblastoma on August 8th after fighting a courageous battle. My best friend was visiting me in August and he son commited suicide on August 4th.
My friend Carol and I met whenour sons were in kindergarden. We hit it off right away..we both had 2 kids, our two oldest in kindergarden, then my daugter and she had another son a little younger than my daughter. We became very close and did everything together. People
Well nothing much new ....but YEAH it is cooler...supposed to get some rain later today or tomorrow. Has been in mid to high 80's and I just don't tolerate the heat very well..worse since the stroke. So we are going from the 80's and next week into the 60's (below normal temp).
I got all the Insurance forms completed, had notes in obvious places so I would remember to go to the Dr. and get his..I forgot to take my part in to town with me so have made 3 copies of all, got home put the copies
